If you are visiting San Francisco, you need to make sure to visit Hawk Hill!
Hawk Hill is located in the Marin Headlands, right past the Golden Gate Bridge. On a clear day, you get the quintessential view of San Francisco and the Pacific Ocean. The best time to go, in my opinion, is right before sunrise on a day when the infamous San Francisco fog is sitting low to the water. It is then that you can see a beautiful inverted sunrise occur right above the Golden Gate Bridge.
If you are an intermediate biker who is not afraid of hills, I recommend biking over Golden Gate Bridge and then up to the top of the hill. Depending on where you start out, the round trip is about 12-18 miles.
